Installing / Setting up your new drive

If you require assistance on “installing a hard drive” then click here.

As you can see in the picture the default for the partitions is 3 partitions at 16131 MB and 1 partition at 13095 MB

You can change this however you like. I would suggest on a hard drive of this size you make your “Operating” drive (the one you are going to install your “Operating System” on) smaller than the default 16131-MB setting. There is no sense having a 16GIG Operating drive when you are only going to use 3 Gigs on it. It would be better to divide it up the way that best suits your needs. To give you an example, I have my own  “Games” drive, “Storage” drive, and “MP3’” drive. The reason I recommend the Operating Drive smaller is because it is easier for your hard drive to search a 6GIG hard drive rather than a 16GIG hard drive. If you are searching a few MP3’s there is no big deal but for your Operating System you may notice a difference. Again however you decide to divide it up is totally up to you.
