The Taisol CGK Cooler is nothing to be overlooked. It’s the biggest Socket 370 cooler I have ever used or actually seen.

The heatsink is made from a forged aluminum, a lot of heatsinks are made from an extruded aluminum. What’s the difference in the forged and extruded aluminum? I am not an expert in the aluminum section so I got Mr. Webster’s to give me a hand and this is what I gathered about the both:  

Forge:  

To form (metal, for example) by heating in a forge and beating or hammering into shape.  

To form (metal) by a mechanical or hydraulic press.  

Extruded:  

To push or thrust out.  

To shape (a plastic, for instance by forcing it through a die.\

This should give you a idea on the difference in forged aluminum & extruded aluminum.                     

Installing the heatsink was a little tricky. The heatsink comes with a nice clip that grips all three prongs on each side of the CPU socket, although this makes it hard to snap the heatsink into place without the help of a pair of needle nose pliers. Taking the heatsink off is another story, lets just hope you don’t have to remove it very often. On the positive side the clip holds the heatsink securely into place and evenly distributes pressure. I am sure you can drop your computer out of a plane and once it hit the ground the Taisol CGK Cooler would be attached once it hit the ground.
