The Irreversible Procedure
This
second procedure will give you more effective results, but at the expense that
you could damage your cable beyond repair.

If you were to cut across a wire, you could render your cable useless.
It is not hard to successfully cut the insulation.
If you take your time, you will have no problems.
The first step is to notice that there are gaps in the insulation between
wires.
If you makes cuts approximately every 7 wires. (6, 7, 7, 7, 7, 6)
Make the cut in the insulation about 2 cm (~1 in.) long.
You can then carefully pull on the insulation and it will come apart.
Be sure the cable is on a flat surface before cutting. The picture shows me holding it up so that is would be a better picture. Continue with the cutting until you have made them all.
Then, like the before, bunch the strips together. I found it best to start from the outside, and as I moved to the next strip inside, layer it underneath. As before, tape the cable together near one of the connectors.
Then continue toward the next connector, taping approximately every 2 cm (~1in.) Now you have yourself rounded IDE cables!! They will be much easier to manage and bend, and will reduce the clutter inside your case that restricts airflow. I highly suggest doing this to your computer. I like the way it looks inside my case now, and now my front intake fan is no longer blocked. It only takes about 5-10 minutes to do a cable. One thing to note before doing this is that if you are really stretching your cables to reach, rounding them will slightly shorten them. Make sure you will have enough length before trying it. Have fun and enjoy the advantages.
