Design and Setup

The Labtec Pulse 424 speakers are black in color, matching perfectly with my computer that I recently painted black.J.  The instructions are two pages long, they are very straightforward and easy to follow.

The subwoofer is in a properly designed wooden case for more efficient performance bass. There is an eight-inch pressure driver on the face that is protected by a black metal screen. The sub should be placed under the desk for maximum bass. But, be careful all you people who live in apartments and have neighbors who live under you: your neighbors will probably complain. This is why there is a volume control for the bass; it is located on the back of the subwoofer which makes it easy for you to adjust the level of bass that’s right for you. On the back is the AC plug that goes in the wall outlet, or power bar. Finally, the last item on the back is the speaker input jack where a cable from your satellites fits.

The satellites are very lightweight in design with a two-inch speaker protected by a black metal screen. The satellites are slightly angled upwards to direct the sound to the listener. The right satellite is the main controller. On the back it has three cables: first cable with the audio jack goes to the back of your computer, the middle cable (which is a lot thicker and is shielded) runs from the speaker to the subwoofer, and the last cable goes to the left speaker. On the front of the speaker is the master volume, which a knob that you turn up and down, a headphone jack, and the master power button.

Make sure the speakers are a fair distance away from each other on either side of the monitor (approximately 24 inches apart), to insure maximum listening quality.
