GlobalWIN WBK68 Cooler Review

Performance

Like mentioned earlier in  “Tested System” I have a Thunderbird 1000mhz overclocked to 1200mhz so it is going to run a little warmer than a stock chip. When I had the WBK68 heatsink installed I disabled all other cooling in the case so I could get an accurate temp reading from the GlobalWIN by itself on the chip.

The best way to actually see your temperature I find is in the Bios. Some of those hardware monitors are not that accurate as the systems bios. On that note, it is safe to say I entered my bios to check my CPU temp. First I ran “prime 95 – torture test” for 30 minutes to put a little load on the CPU. The temperature never got above 39c. It was hovering on an average of 34c-36c. Not quite as low as some heatsinks cool your CPU but well into the “safe zone”. I did not try the fan blowing out because my history has been that this pushes the temperature up 1-3c.

Conclusion

I will be keeping this heatsink in my system for the time being. I am pleased with its performance and noise level. Like I mentioned in the introduction my Taisol CGK Cooler with Delta 30 CFM Fan is a tremendous heatsink/fan but the noise levels are high. The GlobalWIN WBK68 has suitable noise levels without sacrificing a ton of performance. I like the slim GlobalWIN fan and the funky looking heatsink. I have my 1000mhz chip overclocked to 1200mhz and the temperature is 36c without any other cooling enabled. Without a doubt if you are looking for some nice cooling without having those loud fans you hear about (and may chop your finger off) then you may want to consider the GlobalWIN WBK68.
